Our American Craft Beer Week Events in MD, DC, and VA

Without any further pomp, circumstance, or ado, here’s our lineup of kick ass events for this year’s American Craft Beer Week:

Monday, May 16

“Firkin of Love” at The Falls Mount Washington

  • 5 pm, Baltimore, MD
  • Since it’s a benefit for the Baltimore Love Project, we’ll be lovingly tapping a firkin of Raging Bitch Belgian-Style IPA
  • We’ll also have Woody Creek White Belgian Wit and Dog Schwarz Smoked Double Lager on draft

Flights and Small Plates at Fourth Estate

  • Washington, DC (in the National Press Club)
  • To celebrate ACBW, Fourth Estate is offering Flying Dog beer flights during lunch and dinner
  • Just $15 for a flight of our Tire Bite Golden Ale, Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale, and Woody Creek White Belgian Wit

Tuesday, May 17

American Craft Crawl through Alexandria

  • 5 pm, starting at The Fish Market in Alexandria, VA
  • Rustico will have Snake Dog IPA and Raging Bitch Belgian-Style IPA on draft, along with our limited-edition Single Hop Imperial IPA with Simcoe on draft and cask
  • Daniel O’Connell’s in Alexandria will have Old Scratch Amber Lager on draft

Gonzo Firkin Night at Ale Mary’s

  • 6 pm, Baltimore, MD
  • Once we tap a firkin of our Gonzo Imperial Porter, the bats will begin to swarm over Charm City… We’ll also have Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale and Woody Creek White Belgian Wit on draft

Flying Dog Sex Survey Night at Union Jack’s

  • 6 pm, Bethesda, MD; Columbia, MD; and Ballston, VA
  • The New York Times likes it Doggie Style, do you? Find out with our sex position personality survey that matches you up with not only how you like it in the sack, but also the best Flying Dog beer to put you in the mood.
  • All Flying Dog drafts and bottles are on special all night long!

Wednesday, May 18

Wild Man Release at Max’s Taphouse

  • 5 pm, Baltimore, MD
  • There are only a few kegs left of In de Wildeman Farmhouse IPA, brewed to commemorate the 25th anniversary of In de Wildeman (a bad ass beer bar in Amsterdam), left in the U.S. and Max’s has one!
  • We’ll also have our just-released Single Hop Imperial IPA with Centennial on draft and on cask, along with vintage 2008 Horn Dog Barleywine

American Craft Crawl through Arlington

  • 5:30 pm, starting at Fireworks Pizza in Arlington, VA
  • Fireworks will have food pairings with Woody Creek White Belgian Wit and limited-edition Single Hop Imperial IPA on draft, along with firkins of Simcoe and Raging Bitch Belgian-Style IPA
  • Spider Kelly’s will have Raging Bitch on draft and Tire Bite Golden Ale bottles
  • Rustico (Ballston location) will have Snake Dog IPA and Simcoe on draft with a Simcoe firkin
  • Other locations include Whitlows, Boulevard, and Hard Times

  • 4 pm, Baltimore, MD
  • Our newest Imperial IPA — Single Hop with Centennial — will be on draft, along with Barrel-Aged Gonzo Imperial Porter and casks of Gonzo Imperial Porter and In de Wildeman Farmhouse IPA

Cask Tapping and Pizza Pairing at Fireworks Pizza (Leesburg)

  • 5 pm in Leesburg, VA
  • Old Scratch Amber Lager and Single Hop Imperial IPA with Simcoe on draft, along with a special pizza pairing

Prohibition in Washington, DC Book Launch at Woodrow Wilson House

  • 6:30 pm in Washington, DC
  • Raise a pint of Flying Dog to toast the launch of Garrett Peck’s new book Prohibition in Washington, DC: How Dry We Weren’t — a history of how prohibition unraveled in our nation’s capital
  • Tickets are $35 and include complementary Flying Dog and hors d’oeuvres

  • We’re teaming up with Brightest Young Things for a beer brunch centered around beermosas: our Woody Creek White Belgian Wit beer mixed with freshly squeezed OJ.
  • Beer takes flight – Three 8oz. pours of the featured brews are just $9
  • Here are Smith Commons’ featured brunch pairings:

  • The tour will conclude with happy hour at the Bier Baron at 3 pm

  • Come try samples of the hoppy beauties that make up our new Alpha Collection variety pack: Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale, Snake Dog IPA, Raging Bitch Belgian-Style IPA, and Single Hop Imperial IPA with Simcoe (the only place you can find it in bottles!)

A Taste of Arlington

  • 12 pm, Arlington, VA
  • Flying Dog will be featured at Arlington’s annual showcase of the area’s best restaurants

American Lamb Jam Tour at the Ritz Carlton

  • 2 pm, Washington, DC
  • The American Lamb Board presents a DC chef competition to create the most luscious lamb recipes
  • We’ll be sampling our beer during the competition, along with custom pairings by Chef Ed Witt of Restaurant 701:
    • Tartar, pickled ramps, fava beans, orange zest, and coriander flatbread paired with our Woody Creek White Belgian Wit
    • Lamb liverwurst stuffed morels with ramp mustard paired with our Dog Schwarz Smoked Double Lager
    • Cocoa and coffee crusted loin, Pedro Ximenez strawberries, cured belly, and Tuscan kale paired with our Gonzo Imperial Porter
  • Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through the American Lamb Board website
