Frederick Beer Week is Back
This year’s going to be bigger and badder than the last. Here’s a look at what we have planned:
Saturday, May 12
- A led bicycle tour of Frederick’s three craft breweries
- Beginning and ending at the Frederick Fairgrounds with stops at Flying Dog, Barley and Hops, and Monocacy Brewing)
- 8 am to noon
- $30 tickets (in advance)
- A festival solely featuring craft beer from the great state of Maryland
- Frederick Fairgrounds
- Noon to 6 pm
- $17 to $40 tickets (in advance and at the door)
Sunday, May 13
- Bring mom out for a beer brunch featuring all three Frederick breweries
- Roasthouse Pub
- 11 am and 1 pm seatings
- Reservations are required, so call Roasthouse Pub at 301-418-6098 to make yours today
Monday, May 14
- We’re throwing in a round of beer-centric questions into Pour House Trivia’s regular Monday night lineup to crown Frederick’s Beer Geek King (or Queen)
- Il Forno Pizzeria
- 8:30 pm registration, 9 pm start
Tuesday, May 15
- Have a pint with the brewers behind the beers you know and love, featuring Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout and Brewhouse Rarities Sour Cherry Ale on tap
- Monocacy Crossing
- 4 to 6 pm
Wednesday, May 16
- Four chocolate confections from The Perfect Truffle paired with four different brews
- Flying Dog Brewery taproom
- 7 to 9 pm
- $10 tickets (in advance)
Thursday, May 17
- Featuring only Frederick beer from Flying Dog, Brewer’s Alley, and Barley and Hops on tap
- Bushwaller’s Irish Pub
- 5 pm to close
Friday, May 18
The Great Frederick Beer Week Scavenger Hunt
- A craft beer-focused hunt through downtown Frederick for teams of 3 to 5 people with an after-party at Brewer’s Alley
- Flying Dog Brewery, then various locations downtown
- 5 pm to 6 pm registration, 9 pm after-party
- $30 per team (in advance)
Saturday, May 19
Frederick Beer Week Firkin Fest
- This annual farm festival is getting real! Featuring cask-conditioned brews from yours truly, Brewer’s Alley, Barley and Hops, Heavy Seas, Evolution, DuClaw, Growlers, Johanson’s, and Baying Hound
- Stillpoint Farm (in Mt. Airy, MD)
- Noon to 6 pm
- $20 tickets (in advance)
